Today it is a living museum, ready to take visitors on a journey back in time. This castle is a must-see for anyone who loves history and culture – and it’s also perfect for a family outing!
With its old walls and towers, the castle is a true time machine that tells stories from the past. You can explore the fascinating exhibits and learn all about what life was like in the ancient halls and chambers. And if you visit at the right times, you can also experience live art markets and concerts that give the castle extra life.

3. Weißpriach
Explore the Weißpriach in the UNESCO Biosphärenpark Salzburger Lungau, one of the most beautiful valleys in the region. This charming village is located at an altitude of 1100 meters and is known for its scenic spots such as the Longa River and the Wirpitschsee. The area around Weißpriach was chosen as the most beautiful natural area in Salzburgerland and the 3rd most beautiful natural area in the whole of Austria in a program on ORF (Austria’s national radio and television company).
The area is ideal for family outings, even with prams, and offers hiking routes that lead to idyllic heathland with cabins where you can enjoy local specialities. It is also possible to get all the way to the top by taking the Samson lift at Fanningberg. For the more adventurous hikers, there are also opportunities to explore several trails up to the highest mountain peaks.

4. Salzburg
