1. Bicycle rides in Bad Gastein
The Austrian nature around Bad Gastein is created for cycling. Feeling the wind in your hair while climbing a mountainside on a mountain bike is quite unique.
Once you reach the top, you can enjoy a wonderful view from over 2000 meters across the valley.
If you want to avoid too much sweat and hard work but would like to experience the view and the bike ride down, you can even take your mountain bike with you in the lift during the summer.

You can also take a ride through Bad Gastein and the rest of the valley with a racing bike. There is a myriad of marked bike routes with varying heights, lengths and degrees of difficulty. You can see a lot of the valley with a bicycle and a lust for adventure.
You do not need to bring your own bike if you do not have space. There is ample opportunity to rent one or more bicycles.
If you are not much for exploring Bad Gastein by bike on your own, you can try cycling training or a guided bike ride. Nothing should stop you from experiencing Bad Gastein by bike.
2. Swimming and water
If you are an avid swimmer, you should try a summer holiday in Bad Gastein. There is no desire for swimming and water that Bad Gastein cannot fulfil.
The river Gasteiner Ache flows down through both Bad Gastein, Bad Hofgastein and Dorfgastein. In the middle of Bad Gastein’s city center you will find the beautiful Gasteiner waterfall that you will have to experience during your stay.

The beautiful nature and the many mountains are perfect for hiking. Gastein has four experience mountains – Fulseck, Schlossalm, Stubnerkogel and Graukogel – all of which are worth a hike.

There are different levels of difficulty, so both the beginner and the experienced can have a great experience.
