In Bad Hofgastein you can find the brand new Schlossalm lift, which will take you up the ski area that connects Bad Hofgastien, Bad Gastien and Angertal. From Bad Hofgastein, there is also the possibility of jumping on the ski bus and going to the beautiful Sportgastein for a solid game of off-piste and powder, or you can go to Dorfgastein and Grossarl, which offer large boulevards so you can practice your carving skills.
In Bad Hofgastein, as well as in Bad Gastein, you can pamper yourself with relaxation and wellness in the Alpentherme thermal bath. Alpentherme offers extraordinary sauna experiences both inside and out, with the possibility of a look at the beautiful mountains. After a trip in one of the saunas, there is the opportunity to cool down in the cold mountain lake or have a wonderful massage.
Bad Hofgastein itself offers plenty of opportunities for shopping as well as a large and good selection of restaurants. The typical Austrian cuisine is particularly distinctive in the city, and if you visit Tröpferl you must definitely try their lamb. If you are more into a good steak, we can recommend steak and more. The après ski opportunities are very limited in Bad Hofgastein, but if you take a walk past Kleines Gwölb you can enjoy a good glass of wine in the small cozy wine bar. If you have children or a childish souls, a toboggan ride on the 3.3 kilometer long Aeroplan toboggan run will definitely be a hit. To get there, take the Schlossalmbahn up and get off at the Kitzstein station, after which you have a short walk over to Aeroplanstadl. The sled run is open every day from 6.30- 7.30 pm, and on Fridays and Thuesdays the toboggan run is lighted until 10.30 pm.
