AUSTRIA - SKI AREA
350 KM SLOPE 100 LIFTS
The Snow Space Salzburg ski area in Flachau, Wagrain and St. Johann, together with the Flachauwinkl/Zauchensee ski connection, is one of the five largest ski regions in Austria and is one of the most diverse winter sports destinations in the Alps with its varied range of slopes, including two World Cup runs, modern ski lift facilities and internationally known freestyle and freeride spots. Due to the especially high altitude and the extremely efficient snow-making facilities, this ski resort offers the best slope conditions from the beginning of December through to springtime skiing in the Easter holidays.
The G-Link, a spectacular aerial ropeway lift, connects the Grafenberg and the Grießenkareck in Wagrain. The ski resort, which is located in the center of the Ski amadé in the Salzburg Province, offers the whole family a perfect holiday in the snow. The lifts in the home of the “Herminator” Hermann Maier, set new standards for quality and service. There is a large selection of ski rental offices and ski schools ready to serve you. There are challenging freeride slopes as well as perfectly groomed runs in wide format in Flachau-Wagrain. Alpendorf is located three kilometers from the center of St. Johann and is a self-contained holiday island.
Alpendorf is located in Salzburgerland and is part of the skiing area Snow Space Salzburg, which Wagrain and Flachau is a part of as well. Alpendorf is a very family and child-friendly area, which is an ideal place to teach the little ones to ski, but there are also many opportunities to challenge the more experienced skiers and plenty of piste kilometers to venture out. In the summer you got plenty of fantastic hiking opportunities or you can experience „Geisterberg“– a leisure and adventure park with lots of good activities for all ages. Alpendorf itself is not the world’s largest city, but you can find the most basic things, such as bars, restaurants, and a small supermarket. If you need bigger and other shopping options, you can hop on the ski bus to St. Johann Im Pongau, where there are plenty of shops, restaurants, and cafes.
